Contrary to popular belief, i would not put a GIGANTIC/HUMONGOUS 'HAPPY NEW YEAR' here. I like to go against cliches.

So with the coming of 2009, is the going of 2008. This post is a reflection of the wonderful year that has past, and probably should have been posted yesterday, but you should know me by now. =)

Year 2008 Academics:

What can i say? Same old same old. HAHA if you guys(or girls) have read my previous posts in October, you will know the results i have been getting.

B AVERAGE.

Term 1 this year was my best term so far since coming into this school. Almost all As except Physics, which i had gotten a B3 in. Peaked.

Following that came a plunge in Term 2 and Term 3. Valleyed.

Term 4 was in sight, and i did my best to salvage the situation in Term 4 by doing last minute revision, and i got a few As, getting my B average. So by now, you can already infer my results for Term 2 and Term 3. Disastrous.

Overall, i wouldnt say this has been a good year in my studies, the surprising thing is, i got $150 for good progress. And i didnt even made any improvement in my studies. WORD.

So here comes 2009, promises i have made to myself, is to be dedicated and focused in constant revision or at least 2 weeks before every Prelim, i will study my darndest. I WILL NOT LET MY PARENTS DOWN, for they are the greatest support i can rely on in times of trouble. =)

THIS WILL BE THE PROMISE

MADE, COME NEXT YEAR WE

WILL SEE WHETHER I HAVE

KEPT MY PROMISE.

NCC: Since the 2nd half of Sec 1, i have set my sights on becoming the CSM of the unit(Yes it is that long ago). I worked hard, i trained up my fitness level, i practiced my drills at home and i was the timer almost everytime.

Then came the turning point, i joked, i crapped and went overboard, thus shattering the image the NCOs had of me.

10th Annual Camp came, and i went to China, not on purpose, but i guess life's like that. =( I begin to lose all hope of getting my dream post.

Came the interview, and the post release. As expected, i wasnt the CSM, and i became

CHS NCC Air PART B UDI 2008-2009.

I hated it, it was the 1 post that i didnt want to get out of the Top 5, i would rather much be a PART C UDI or PART A UDI, actually ASM wasnt really in my mind too.

Heck after so many months, i have come to realise i love the part under my charge. SERIOUSLY, love them though im not gay. This is the post that utilises and unleash my true potential upon reflecting back on what i have done and what i could do for them.

During this period of time, came MKE, 11th Annual Camp, NCC Air Annual Specialist Course 2008, 2 Star Kayaking Course and NCC Air Annual Senior Specialist Course 2008.

Badges pile on, Ranks got bigger, RESPONSIBILITY HEAVIER.

It was not so much the drills, or training up the cadet's physical fitness anymore, but rather to inculcate in them a sense of brotherhood amongst each other, and passion for the CCA. I cant say i have done that to everyone, but i can say im trying, and at the end of the day we will see what has become of them when they themselves take over as NCOs.

PROMISE to myself, is that i will groom them to be the best leaders they can be. Unexpected(Everyone has been doubting them) competency should come naturally to them.

THIS WILL BE THE PROMISE

MADE, COME NEXT YEAR WE

WILL SEE WHETHER I HAVE KEPT

MY PROMISE.

PDS: This year, i have proved my worth, 8 months in "solitude" practicing, perfecting basic drills and mastering advanced drills. It all paid off when i did my first Triple Jumbo. =)

PDS takes lots of hard work and i want to leave a legacy for future cadets. As the
1st person to do Triple Jumbo. =)

PROMISE to myself is to do Helicopter before i step down.

THIS, WILL BE THE PROMISE

MADE, COME APRIL/MAY

WE WILL SEE WHETHER I HAVE

KEPT MY PROMISE.

This year will be a year of challenge, both physical and mental. I will succeed in acheiving my goals.

Things that will make me down, wont keep me down.

YOU CAN BANK ON THAT. =)

Changed my blog song, Twista feat. Faith Evans-Hope.

Ushering the new year in with hope. It may seem like senseless rapping to you, but it is actually a meaningful song once you know the lyrics.

I think i will cry when i watch this video after we step down. Seriously. Credits to Wei Xuan A.K.A. Robocop. Half-done but it is still good. =)

Another one done by Samuel, Half-done but good job too. =)
